HALLETTSVILLE: Betty Jean Denison, 82, passed away Friday, December 27, 2024. She was born April 28, 1942 in Yoakum to the late Johnnie and Myrtle (Castellow) Hairell. Betty’s job on earth was to take care of everyone. She had a big heart and loved everyone, especially her family and all the animals around her. She loved to garden and was a great cook. Survivors are her daughters, Susan Roberson and husband Jeff of Hallettsville and Vickie Casey of Hope; son, Keith Denison of Hope; 7 grandchildren, John Casey, Joseph Roberson, Jacob Roberson, , Timothy Roberson, Krys Roberson, Kaylee Roberson and Dresden Roberson and 9 great-grandchildren; 3 sisters, Eyvonne Zalenski (Ben) of Houston, Cora Lee Clark (Wayne) of Hope and Johnnie May (Bill Desmarais) of Wimberley; numerous extended family. She is preceded in death by her parents Johnnie and Myrtle Hairell; husband Alton Denison (2013); son, Richard Denison and grandson, Jeffrey Roberson; sister, Wanda Schulte. Visitation 4 to 6 p.m., Wednesday, January 1, 2025 at Thiele Cooper Funeral Home. Funeral Service 2 p.m., Thursday, January 2, 2025 at Thiele Cooper Funeral home with Pastor Nick Ferguson officiating. Burial to follow at the Hairell Family Cemetery at Hope.
