YOAKUM: Alvina Garza, 78, passed away Wednesday, July 29, 2020. She was born September 6, 1941 in Yoakum to Bruno and Maria (Coronado) Mesa.
She was the matriarch of her family and a faithful humble servant of God, serving her family and others.
Survivors are her husband of 45 years, Albert M. Garza of Yoakum; son, Albert Garza III of Yoakum; daughters, Leaticha Garza, of Yoakum and Mary Rodriguez of San Antonio; 20 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren; brother, Leroy Mesa of Yoakum.
Preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Leandro Rodriguez and two sons, Bruno and Felix Rodriguez; brother, Bruno Mesa.
Visitation 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., Monday, August 3, 2020 at Yoakum Community Center with Funeral Service at 1 p.m. with Rev. Gilbert Mesa, her nephew officiating. Burial to follow at Yoakum Oak Grove Cemetery.
