SHINER: Marvin E. Kremling, 76, joined his heavenly family Monday, March 13, 2023. He was born August 6, 1946 in Shiner to Edmund and Beatrice (Kusak) Kremling.
Marvin graduated from Shiner High School, served in the US National Guard and was a lifetime member of Sts. Cyril & Methodius Catholic Church. Marvin worked for Tandy Brands for over 40 years as Superintendent of the belt factory. He was known for his dedication and drive to get the job done but had the most considerate and kind way with people. He loved music, was a song writer, played the accordion and guitar. He played in many local bands and the sang joyfully to the Lord in the church choir. He married his high school sweetheart, Dorothy Herman March 10, 1968 and they celebrated their 55th anniversary by her holding him close, knowing that God would call him home soon. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather and will always be missed. Rest in peace Marvin.
Survivors are his wife, Dorothy Kremling; daughter, Laura Ann Kremling Redfern; son Travis Kremling and wife Laura Lynn Kremling, all of Shiner; four grandchildren, Lenae Long (Eric) of Shiner, Sammi Stoner (Scott) of Schulenburg, Justin and Jessica Redfern of Shiner; great-grandchild, Jayton Long; sister, Evelyn Hoffmann and husband Welgene of Shiner and brother, Kenny Kremling of Yoakum; brothers-in-law, Luther Lorfing of Hallettsville and Eugene Heidaker of Cuero.
Preceded in death by his parents; sisters Pat Lorfing and Delores Heidaker.
Visitation at 4:30 with Rosary recited at 6:30 p.m., Tuesday, March 14, 2023 at Thiele Cooper Funeral Home.
Funeral Mass 10 a.m., Wednesday, March 15, 2023 at Sts. Cyril & Methodius Catholic Church with Msgr. John Peters officiating. Burial to follow at at Shiner Catholic Cemetery.
Pallbearers are Scott Stoner, Eric Long, Justin Redfern, BJ Drehr, John Paul Lorfing and Russell Machacek.
Memorials may be given to Sts. Cyril & Methodius Catholic Church.
