YOAKUM: Ralph Leist, age 92, passed away Saturday, June 14, 2025. He was born January 30, 1933 in Yoakum to Oscar and Albina Maresch Leist. He worked at Alcoa for 36 years and served in the U.S. Army. He enjoyed spending time with children, hunting and fishing. Survivors: daughter, Carol Bond; sons, Scott Leist, Mike Leist (Renee), Mark Leist and Randy Leist; grandchildren, Ryan Vera (Kristine), Caitlin Bond, Cody Bond, Catherine Leist, Rebecca Leist, Simone Martin (Christian) and Tess Hickey; 9 great-grandchildren; brother, Ernest Leist. Preceded in death by: parents; wife, Marie Leist; daughter, Martina Buenger; son, Doug Leist; brother, Hubert Leist. Funeral service 10:00 a.m. Saturday, June 21, 2025 at Austin Street Baptist Church with Pastor Elvis Whaley officiating. Burial Willow Creek Cemetery. Pallbearers: Scott Leist, Mike Leist, Mark Leist, Randy Leist, Butch Leist and Ernie Leist. Memorial contributions may be given to Austin Street Baptist Church.
