~Trent Mareth~YOAKUM: Trent Curtis Mareth, 62, went to be with the Lord on December 20th, 2024, after a short battle with cancer. He was born August 17th, 1962, to Edgar “Johnny” Mareth & Helen (Bennetsen) Mareth. He attended school, grew up in Yoakum, and spent many summers at his grandparent's farm, fishing, hunting, and getting into mischief. Teen years were spent riding backroads with his buddies and listening to rock & roll. He was an excellent artist and loved watching football, cooking, and barbequing. He joined the army in 1985 and was stationed in South Korea, after accepting an honorable discharge he moved to Marshville NC, where he opened an auto body shop, and spent almost 30 years there. In 2021 Covid took his wife Linda and in 2022 he relocated back to Yoakum where he was reunited with his former sweetheart Joyce Holster. They were married shortly after and have spent the past two years enjoying life together. Trent is survived by: Wife, Joyce; Daughter, Heather Pfeil (Jimmy) of Victoria; Son, Rick Mareth (Kasey) of Marshville NC; Grandchildren: Derek & Amber Pfeil; Sisters: Sheila Clubb (David) of Winnie TX, Janet Jiral (Larry) of Yoakum, Debra Simper (Thomas) of Yoakum; Brother: John Wade Mareth of Yoakum. Funeral Service 2 p.m., Friday, January 3, 2025 at Thiele-Cooper Funeral Home with Pastor Elvis Whaley officiating. Burial at Pilot Grove Cemetery in Yoakum. Pallbearers: Jimmy Pfeil, Derek Pfeil, Delbert Moore, David Clubb, Justin Dvorak, Rick Mareth, David Norstrand, Wade Mareth. Honorary Pallbearers: Kenneth Bennetsen, Larry Jiral, Thomas Simper, Wayne Janak, Mark Janak,and Bobby Horton. Memorials may be given to Hospice of South Texas.
