~Larry "Redman" Nordstrand~
YOAKUM: Larry Ray "Redman" Nordstrand, age 59, passed away Wednesday, August 30, 2023. He was born August 6, 1964 in Pasadena, Texas to Elray and Janie Kaye Boyd Nordstrand. He was a farmer and helped manage Yoakum Roadrunner. He enjoyed working on tractors, giving his "little gators" tractor rides, watching football, standing outside by his truck waiting for visitors to come drink a beer with him. He kept Yoakum Roadrunner clean and neat looking and was Karen's security guard at times. He was a simple man, a friend to all and was always willing to lend a helping hand. Survivors: companion, Karen Barrera-Nordstrand; step-daughter, Megan Miranda; step-son, Cody Silgero (Kaitlyn Gonzales); grandchildren (he called them "little gators"), Natalee, Elias, Isaac, Paislyn and Lily; brother, David Nordstrand (Patti); favorite niece, Kristi Nordstrand; nephew, Tristan Nordstrand; great-niece, Shannon Evans; Mary Barrera along with numerous nieces, nephews and other family members. Preceded in death by: parents; nephew, Anthony Nordstrand; Lupe Barrera Jr Funeral service at 10:00 a.m. Monday, September 4, 2023 at Thiele-Cooper Funeral Home with Deacon Dennis Kutach officiating. Burial Queen of Peace Catholic Cemetery in Sweet Home. Pallbearers: Jeff Rutledge, Brad Walters, Garland Schlenker, Ricky Canseco, Clay Harrell and Casey Mikes.
