SHINER: Joe Sestak, 76, gained his angel wings Tuesday, October 10, 2017. He was born May 31, 1941 to the late Joseph and Ella Dolejsi Sestak.
Joe served in the United States Army, was a member of VFW, Shiner Volunteer Fire Dept., served as Lavaca County Constable and served on the administrative board of First United Methodist Church. He loved the outdoors and loved hunting and fishing. He was totally devoted to God as a humble servant and was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone.
Survivors are his beloved wife of 53 years, Betty Jean Guettner Sestak of Shiner; daughter, Debbie Pustka (Skeeter) of Shiner; son, Daniel Sestak (Cindy) of Nacogdoches; 4 grandchildren, Jessica Conway (Dylan) of Ingleside, Hillary Zarosky (Marcus) of Portland, Dustin Sestak and Clayton Sestak, both of Nacogdoches; 4 great-grandchildren, Caydan and Kyndal Conway and McKenna and Kennedy Zarosky; sisters, Delores Haas of Shiner and Joyce Smolik (David) of Hallettsville; brothers, Adolph Sestak (Leona) of Shiner, Charlie Sestak (Joann) of Shiner, Albert Sestak (Suzanne) of Yoakum and Dennis Sestak (Delores) of Yoakum.
Preceded in death by his parents; sister, Helen Mitchon.
Visitation 5 to 7 p.m., Thursday, October 12, 2017 at Thiele Cooper Funeral Home.
Funeral Service 11 a.m., Friday, October 13, 2017 at First United Methodist Church in Shiner with Rev. Amy McClung officiating. Burial to follow in Shiner Cemetery.
