~Royce Stevens~

YOAKUM: Royce Elton Stevens, age 74, passed away Saturday, September 16, 2023. He was born June 17, 1949 in Yoakum to L.R. and Covene (Hamman) Stevens.

He worked in the oilfield and was a rancher. He served in the U.S. Air Force stationed in North Dakota and Korea. He was a true cowboy. He loved team roping and going to rodeos when he was younger. In his later years he enjoyed spending time with his family, his beloved horse Paint, riding on his golf cart checking on cows and hog hunting.

Survivors: wife of 24 years Billie Watson Stevens; daughters, Dodie Stevens, Tiffany Gauntt (John), Kandyce Stevens and Tara Mache; sons, Chris Mache (Renate) and Jeff Nolin (Brie); grandchildren, Drew, Blake, Jaxson, Kylee, Jaelynn, Rilee, Emmalee and Jameson; sister, Shirley Wright (Doug).

Preceded in death by: parents, L.R. and Covene Stevens.

Visitation 10 a.m. with Funeral Service at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, September 21, 2023 at Thiele-Cooper Funeral Home. Burial Hebron Cemetery with military honors performed by Sweet Home American Legion Post 571 Honor Guard.

Pallbearers: Chris Mache, Phillip Steinmann, Darryl Kern, Jim Loos, Gary Chandler and Chris Deel. Honorary pallbearer: Jeff Nolin.

Memorial contributions may be given to Hospice of South Texas or Hebron Cemetery.
