YOAKUM: Melissa Gay Dedear Wehman, age 50, of Rockport passed away Friday, December 27, 2024. She was born October 7, 1974 in Yoakum to Robert and Gay (Nall) Dedear. She was a homemaker. She enjoyed the outdoors, cooking and going to concerts. She loved going to Yoakum to spend time with her Daddy in the country. Survivors: father, Robert Dedear; husband, Shannon Wehman; daughter, Jasmine Barnett (Elijah); son, Dalton Robert Hersh; sister, Lacy Dedear Murphy (John). Preceded in death by her mother, Gay Dedear. Funeral service 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, December 31, 2024 at Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Yoakum with Pastor Ernest Jones officiating. Burial at Yoakum Oak Grove Cemetery. Pallbearers: Ashton Murphy, Shelly Dedear Hansen, Paul Dedear, Layton Dedear, Bruce Wehman, and Clyde Wehman.
