~Don Bates, Jr.~
CUERO: Don R. Bates Jr., passed away on April 19, 2026 at the age of 43. He was born on December 1, 1982 in Victoria to the late Juan Pangelinan and to Cathy Garibay Ortiz. He enjoyed spending time and thrifting with his cousin/best friend Louis Garibay. Quality time with family eating, laughing and playing games. Also Jr. found his greatest peace in his faith and cherished the hours spent with Sonny studying the Bible and seeking the Lord together in prayer. Don is survived by his mother Cathy Ortiz, his daughters: Jazelle Pangelinan and Alexus Moreno and his son Dominic Garibay. Don also held a special place in his heart for his bonus daughters: Angelica, Aurianna, Jaelynn, Isabella, Amaya, and Mykayla. He is also survived by his brothers: Noe Bates(Jammie), and Pasqual Guerrero and sisters: Cheryl Perez(Jarvis), Julie Pangelinan(Filson) and Valerie Butler(Jeremy). Also one grandson. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews whom he cared for and loved very much. Proceeded in death by his brother. Peter Pangelinan and nephew Jeremy Perez, grandparents Carlos and Helen Garibay, Uncle Louis "Buddy" Garibay and by his fiancé, Lisa Babauta. A rosary will be recited at 10:00 a.m. on April 28, 2026 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Cuero, Tx. A funeral mass begin at 10:30 a.m. following the rosary with Father Caleb Krischke officiating. Arrangements by Thiele-Cooper Funeral Home, 361-293-5656. |
