~Elizabeth Jane Bennetsen~
YOAKUM: Elizabeth Jane Bennetsen, 82, passed away on Sunday, November 16, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Shiner, TX, on May 31, 1943, to George Antone Orsak and Millie (Kucher) Orsak. She married Morris Bennetsen in 1962 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Yoakum To this union, six children were born. They enjoyed 46 years of marriage until Morris’ passing in 2008. Elizabeth’s focus was always family. She enjoyed spending time with her eight grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. She was mom to her fur babies, “JoJo” and “Marcy”. Elizabeth was strong in her Catholic faith and taught her family about the love of Jesus. She was also known for her kindness and her smile. Survivors are her children, Curtis Bennetsen (Karen) of Yoakum, Michael Bennetsen of Yoakum, Nick Bennetsen (Terri) of Hallettsville, Darlene Kay Hartman (Gary) of Shiner, Marlene Kay Jaks (David) of Shiner, Milissa Ann Mischer (Mike) of Yoakum; grandchildren, Cody Bennetsen, Kaylee Barrera, Ashley Bennetsen, Alexis Jaehne, Sander Jaks, Keene Bennetsen, Hunter Mischer, Arielle “Tootie” Bennetsen; great-grandchildren, Addison Bennetsen, Alex Bennetsen, Allen Bennetsen, Avery Judd, Noah Barrera, Zoey Barrera, Scarlett Cerny, Korbyn Cerny, Stetson Jaehne.; sisters Maryann Kacir and Margie Pesek. Elizabeth was preceded in death by her parents; husband; brothers; granddaughter, Amber Bennetsen. A Rosary will be recited at 9:30 a.m., followed by a Funeral Mass at 10 a.m., Wednesday, November 19, 2025 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Yoakum. Burial to follow at St. Ann Catholic Cemetery, Yoakum. Memorials may be given to St. Jude Hospital, St. Joseph Catholic Church or St. Ann Catholic Church.
