~Doris Hardin~
YOAKUM: Doris Ann Hardin, 94 years old, passed away Saturday, December 27, 2025. She was born October 9, 1931 in Spur, Texas to Bill and Inez Stubbs Chambless. She shared a beautiful life with her husband, Wayne, who loved her unconditionally. They raised three children--two boys and one girl with strength, love, and a whole lot of personality. Doris was sassy, a ball of fire, and a force in the very best way. She had grit, opinions, and a spark you couldn't miss. She lived in the country, but always carried herself with style. Doris was dressed to a T wherever she went--polished, confident, and put together. That same spirit poured into her boutique, Doris's, which she proudly owned and operated in Yoakum for over 25 years. It wasn't just a business; it was a place where people felt welcomed and seen. In addition to running her store, she kept herself busy by being a faithful member of Hochheim Baptist Church. She was also an active member of The Pilot Club. She cherished traveling with friends--going to The Holy Land, Jamaica, China, Europe, Canada and all over the United States, just to name a few. Doris was also a fighter--and she showed that strength all the way to the end, meeting her final days with courage, grace, and the same fire that defined her life. Her legacy lives on in her family, in the stories we tell, and in the love she leaves behind. One amazing life. One incredible woman. Forever loved. She is survived by her sister Wanda Hancock, daughter Sue Mullins and husband Eddie, sons, Andy Hardin and Thomas Wayne "Joe" Hardin, Jr. and wife Cissie, grandchildren Lisa & Todd Self, BJ & Stephanie Cobb, Melissa & James Rivera, Kelly Lorance, Sarah & Brad Hawkins, Jacob & Meagan Hardin, Kourtney Hardin, 17 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild. She was preceded in death by her parents Bill & Inez Chambless, husband Thomas "Wayne" Hardin, sister Ada Bird, grandson John Hardin, and daughter-in-law Sharon Hardin. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 31, 2025 at 9:00 a.m. with Funeral Service to follow at 10:00 a.m. at Thiele-Cooper Funeral Home with Pastor Harold Fowler officiating.
